We gather at the designated meeting point in Sydney at 16:00. From there, we will transfer to Klara, our home for the next eight nights. We will settle into our new accommodations and enjoy a delicious dinner together. This evening is a great opportunity to get to know fellow travelers and prepare for the exciting adventures that lie ahead. Rest well tonight, as tomorrow we begin our exploration of Bird Island and the stunning landscapes of Nova Scotia.

Today, we embark on an adventure to Bird Island, a stunning rock formation that serves as a sanctuary for a variety of bird species, including Atlantic puffins and bald eagles. DAY THREE - SAINT-PIERRE ET MIQUELON, OVERSEAS FRENCH TERRITORY
Today we will have the opportunity to visit France without crossing the Atlantic Ocean. We set sail for the tiny archipelago of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, located just off the southern coast of Newfoundland. This territory is a fascinating remnant of France's once vast North American empire. Settled in the early 17th century, Saint-Pierre et Miquelon is a place where French politics, commerce, and customs have persisted through centuries. The island's 7,000 citizens proudly celebrate their French heritage, offering a vibrant and authentic cultural experience.

Today, we anchor Klara near the site of the reconstructed Fortress of Louisbourg. In the 1700s, Louisbourg was the third busiest port in North America, playing a crucial role in the colonial conflicts between France and Britain. We will spend the day visiting the reconstructed Fortress of Louisbourg. This National Historic Site offers an immersive experience that transports you back to the 18th century. Wander through the bustling streets of the reconstructed town, complete with shops, homes, and public buildings. Enjoy the authentic atmosphere and gain insights into the lives of the people who once inhabited this vibrant port town. After a day steeped in history, return to Klara for a relaxing evening, reflecting on the rich heritage and fascinating stories you've encountered at the Fortress of Louisbourg.

Today, we visit the charming fishing village of Canso, a place rich in history and natural beauty. Our exploration includes a visit to the Grassy Island Fort National Historic Site, a remnant of an 18th-century British fortification. We plan to start our day with a visit to the small fishing village of Canso. Explore the historical significance of this village, which has played an important role in Nova Scotia's maritime history. We will then head to the Grassy Island Fort, where we can walk among the remnants of this 18th-century British fortification. Learn about the strategic importance of this site during the colonial conflicts between Britain and France. As we sail out of Canso, take in the picturesque views of the Cranberry Lighthouse. This lighthouse is strategically located to mark the entrance to both Canso Harbour and the Strait of Canso, guiding mariners safely through the waters.

Today, we come alongside Halifax, the vibrant capital of Nova Scotia. Our day will be filled with exploring the rich history, culture, and scenic beauty of this bustling city. We plan to start our day with a visit to The Citadel, a star-shaped fort completed in the 1850s We will learn about its historical significance and strategic importance. Explore the Museum of Natural History displaying fascinating exhibits on the flora, fauna, geology, and cultural history of Nova Scotia. Highlights include the whale skeleton, interactive displays, and the live animal exhibits. We will explore The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, where you can delve into the rich maritime heritage of Halifax. Discover the exhibits of the Titanic, the Halifax Explosion, and the age of sail.

DAY 9- LUNENBURG, UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE
Our adventure has come to an end, after breakfast we say goodbye to our crew and fellow travellers. We suggest you spend some time in Lunenburg before heading home. Its waterfront is filled with colonial buildings housing restaurants, breweries, galleries, and shops showcasing local art and crafts, is well worth a visit.
